A Most Extraordinary Prayer - Part 1

Passage: Matthew 6:9-10
We continue this week in our ordinary time series. For the next three weeks, we will have a mini-series within the series focusing on the Lord’s Prayer. We will see that in teaching His disciple to “pray in this way,” Jesus is inviting His followers to declare in prayer our relationship with God. This relationship is parental; Jesus called God “Father” and invited us to do the same. This relationship is also give-and-take: God does for us; we in turn do for God and others what God’s parental care bids us to. Let’s begin to dig into the prayer Jesus taught us to pray. As we do, let us remember that God is a “parent” like no other, revered for heavenly power reflected in us and though us on earth – in love.
