Series: Advent 2020 Series
And He is Named...Prince of Peace
December 20, 2020 | Mark Piedmonte
Passage: Isaiah 9:6-7
Greeting Friends - Well, the weather outside is bright and crisp with a bit of a nip in the air. I pray all are warm and safe and staying healthy as we prepare our hearts to celebrate Christ's birth. May we be a source of Christ's light and love to everyone we meet this week!
Reflection
This week we come to the end of our Advent series "And He is Named..." looking at the four names of the Messiah as the prophet Isaiah proclaimed. Do we know them by heart yet?
Wonderful Counselor - Mighty God - Everlasting Father - and finally this week: Prince of Peace.
As we consider this final name for Jesus let us also ask: Is HIS peace possible or does it seem hard to obtain? Is HIS peace meant to establish goodwill among all people - as the choir of angels sang? Or is it totally possible if and when every woman and man chooses to live peace-filled lives - even when faced with the world's too-often-peace-less-ness? It's hard, and often takes sacrifice - just ask Jesus!
But in choosing to follow the Prince of Peace we just may find the world can change - one person at a time.
Peace,
Pastor Mark
