De-Served

Reflection: “The last shall be first and the first shall be last.” Um…yeah…about that.  Let’s be honest – most of us struggle with this teaching from the parable of the laborers in the vineyard.  After all, it flies in the face of all that we hold true about fairness, equality, about hourly wages. About what people do and do not deserve.  You get paid for the time you’ve put in – that’s just the way of the world!

 But this parable isn’t about the ways of the world is it?  Grab your Bible and read it.
