Passage: Psalms 27:1-14
Scripture Reading for Sunday, March 13: Psalm 27
Reflection: One of the hardest things to do in life is wait. Wait in line. Wait for an appointment. Wait for results. Wait for…well…just about anything important. It’s hard to wait and most of us hate to do it. But I’m sure by now that it’s also come to our attention that waiting is a part of life. Like it or not, we just have to bear the waiting sometimes.
Lent is a time of waiting. It’s also a time of great expectation. We know what comes at the end – the grand celebration of Easter! But Lent must not be rushed. Lent gives us time to pause and prayerfully take all for which we are waiting… to God. Psalm 27 is a beautiful song which calls us to do just this. This week, let’s consider its powerful words. Let’s pray them together- and sing them together – perhaps in a way that we haven’t before. Let’s bring our all waits under God’s tent and learn to trust God even more.
