Let US Pray

Let US Pray

Passage: Acts 4:23-37

Reflection: We’ve all heard the phrase “The family that prays together, stays together,” yes? It’s something we can agree to - prayer is good and it’s something that families should do together. Prayer can strengthen family bonds. Prayers shared together help keep our lives open to each other while keeping God at the center. Prayer brings us comfort in sorrow and brings joy - both for the moment and for tomorrow.

Shared prayer is an essential element in the lives of Jesus-following families of all kinds – and it’s perhaps especially true for the family of the Church. We need to be in prayer with and for each other. We need to take time to pray – not only on Sunday mornings, but every time two or more get together. We need to pray in a way that we can feel the Holy Spirit moving in us, and through, and among us – uniting our lives together and strengthening our witness to Christ.

The earliest Christians set for us an example of this kind of family prayer. Let’s learn from them this week and let us pray in a way that makes us shake with courage and boldness to proclaim our faith in Jesus.
