No Distazo About It

Passage: 1 John 1:1-2:2
Reflection:
The Gospel reading for the Sunday after Easter almost always includes the story of poor "doubting" Thomas. I say "poor" because I am sure that Thomas has gotten a bad rap. I mean, put yourself in his shoes: You're told by your friends that Jesus - who the last you'd heard was very much dead - is in fact alive and had come and breathed all over them! Don't you think you may have felt a bout of your own doubts, too?
Thomas's story is not so much about doubt - but about belief - in Jesus's presence in our lives and in the life of the church, always.
