Passage: Acts 12:1-24

Reflection: Commotions are defined as “states of confused and noisy disturbances” – and life is just filled with them, isn’t it? Commotions often arise quickly, spurred on by unexpected events or situations. When they’re over, we may say (either with joy or revulsion) “That was quite a commotion!” as we pick up the pieces and move forward.  (Notice the word “motion” in commotion. Commotions usually move us somewhere.)

We continue this week in our series in Acts with our focus in Chapter 12. In it, we will hear of several significant events in the early church. In the middle of it all, though, we will also note that the church should expect “no small commotion” as a result when it turns over all worries and trusts fully in God. We. should also expect every God-given commotion to result in forward motion for the church
