Royally Thankful

Passage: Ephesians 1:15-23
Reflection:
This week we will gather for the Thanksgiving feast. But before we do, we gather in worship for another feast day - that of Christ the King. On this day - always the last Sunday before Advent - we set time aside to give thanks for our faith in Jesus Christ and for the life He calls us to live with Him. How has your faith shaped and molded you? How does your faith feed your spirit and uphold you in times of both joy and sorrow? How has your faith opened your eyes to the hungry, the thirsty, the naked and the needy right beside you? Let's gather and give thanks for our faith in the divine royalty of Jesus, His authority in our lives and His rule over all the world.
Questions for Reflection:
What sort of power is manifest in the reign of Jesus Christ? What does it mean to claim that Christ is "far above all rule and authority and power and dominion" or that God has "put all things under his feet"?
