Spirited Waters

Passage: Genesis 1:1-4
It’s a great weekend to think about water! Yes, to beat the heat – but more – to consider the waters of Baptism. The water that is, for us, the place where we begin our journey as Christians. The water of new creation where God claims us, where the Holy Spirit comes to live in us, and where we find Jesus knee-deep with us.
For some, their baptism may be a joy-filled memory. For others, it may be a distant memory remembered only in pictures. For some, it may be something they’re still considering. This week, let us come to a deeper understanding of the sacrament of Baptism and listen to hear the voice of God calling us to make a splash in the world as God’s “beloved children.”
