Passage: Isaiah 40:21-31

Reflection:

We all know the value of exercise to keep our bodies fit.  In recent years, though, experts have touted the advantage of a little "weight-training."  They say that even light weights will help you gain strength.

Gaining strength is the ultimate outcome for our spiritual exercise, too.  Strength that comes from God, and helps us to lift and carry the "waits" we often face, like waiting for results and for relationships to mend, waiting for great beginnings and waiting for inevitable ends.

Let's face it - it's hard to wait.  But as we do, the words of Isaiah 40:31 come into play:  "those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength...they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."

What are you waiting for right now?  Where and for what could you use a lift up?  What is making you tired and faint?  For what do you need power and strength - that can only come from your faith in God?  Think about it.  Read and pray on the scriptures.
