Scripture for Sunday, Feb 18 2024 - LENT WEEK 1
Psalm 25: 1-10; Mark 1: 9-15
Reflection: We are now fully on our way on the Lenten journey. This week we will make a stop in the wilderness to wrestle with the “wild beasts” of temptations – those things which snarl and show their teeth trying to knock us out of balance and off our feet. Don’t be frightened – Jesus will be out there with us – as will the angels to comfort and care for us even in the face of temptations. Let’s go with courage – remembering the strength of the Holy Spirit who came to dwell in us in Baptism.
