This week, we will again consider a great Advent song – but it’s not one we’ll find in the hymnal. Rather, we’ll have to read its lyrics in our Bibles. Known as the “Magnificat” - it’s Mary’s love song for God’s choosing her to be the mother of the Messiah – and for all that her son will accomplish for God’s great and mighty purposes.

It’s a beautiful song – but can we sing it? Do we know the tune? Or perhaps this song is better sung in our joining with Jesus in His work to bring about great reversals in the way we think about power and success; in the way we treat others and show God’s mercy and love.
