Two for One

Series: The Gospel of Mark

Two for One

July 11, 2021 | Mark Piedmonte

Passage: Mark 5:21-43

Reflection:

In our reading this week from Mark chapter 5 we will meet two women whose lives have been cut short. One is a woman who has been sick for 12 years and forced to live on the margins of society; the other is a 12-year-old girl whose life is just beginning as her life hangs in the balance. Both need a healing touch from the one who can save them– Jesus.

In this two-for-one healing story, we are challenged to ask:  For what in our lives might we long to feel the healing touch of Jesus? What would give us life if we could just reach out and touch Him? To whom might we go with the Gospel message and a gentle touch of assurance that the faith in Jesus has the power to restore life and conquer death?
