Yes, Nap You!

Series: The Gospel of Mark

Yes, Nap You!

June 13, 2021 | Mark Piedmonte

Passage: Mark 1:9-39

Reflection:

We're just getting started now in our series in Mark's Gospel.  Last week we noted it's brevity and it's fast-paced nature.  In Mark, everything happens quickly, urgently, immediately if not sooner. In our reading for this week, we'll see that in Jesus's very first days of ministry He is on the go...go...go - constantly! But in the middle of it Jesus remembers to do something essential - he stops, finds a quiet place, rests and prays.  In doing so, He sets an example for His disciples  making it clear - you won't get very far at all if all you do is go.  Rest and prayer are essential for all who seek to follow Him.

Question for Reflection:

Do you sometimes feel like all you do is go...go...go?  How and when do you get your rest? How and when do you pray? Do you make time every day to do so? Try to commit to at least 5 minutes a day 3x a day - to just be quiet and be in God's presence - and pray. See how this might begin to change you - energize you - refocus and inspire you in your life and as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
